About The Society for Audiology Professionals Singapore (SAPS)
SAPS is the professional body representing audiologists and hearing healthcare professionals in Singapore. Established in 2000, SAPS was founded with the aim of promoting the development of the audiology profession and advancing standards of hearing and balance care in Singapore. Today, SAPS plays an important role in supporting audiologists across the public healthcare, private practice, academic, and industry sectors.
SAPS is committed to promoting professional excellence, ethical practice, and continuous learning within the audiology community. The society provides opportunities for continuing education, professional networking, clinical discussions, and collaboration among members. Through conferences, workshops, seminars, and educational initiatives, SAPS helps audiologists stay updated with advancements in hearing healthcare and clinical best practices.
In addition to supporting professionals, SAPS also advocates for greater public awareness of hearing and balance health. The society works to educate healthcare professionals and the public about hearing loss, hearing conservation, tinnitus, balance disorders, and the importance of early intervention and rehabilitation. SAPS also supports public health campaigns such as World Hearing Day and World Audiology Day.
Audiologists represented by SAPS assess, diagnose, and manage hearing and balance disorders in both children and adults. They conduct hearing assessments, recommend and fit hearing devices, provide counselling and rehabilitation, and support patients in improving communication and quality of life.
